$1.4 billion invested to create a world-class cancer research and treatment facility.

Overview

The Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary offers multidisciplinary cancer care and research, providing access to comprehensive services. Opened in October 2024, the centre features 160 inpatient beds and over 9,200 square metres for research.

Project information

This project served as a significant economic driver in Calgary, creating around 8,770 construction and construction related jobs and generating 8 million work hours.

The new 186,000-square-metre (over 2 million square feet) centre features 13 above-ground levels and 5 levels of underground parking, providing 1,650 parking stalls.

In addition, the project received a historic $50 million donation from the Arthur J.E. Child Foundation, announced on June 28, 2023. In recognition of this generous gift, the centre was officially named the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre.
