For employers
The International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) can help employers make hiring decisions for internationally educated applicants by comparing their international credentials with educational standards in Canada.
Our services include:
- providing clear, accurate and reliable assessment certificates for potential candidates who have international education credentials – a Basic Assessment is typically used for employment purposes
- issuing Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) reports for Canadian immigration purposes – an ECA may be used for employment after an applicant is approved to immigrate to Canada
- issuing priority assessment certificates within 5 business days upon an employer’s written request, once all required documents are provided to IQAS
- providing International Education Guides to share information about comparing international education credentials to Canadian standards
Employers are encouraged to provide a link to IQAS on their organization’s human resource website, so that prospective job applicants can have their IQAS assessment certificate ready prior to the job application or interview.
For urgent inquiries
IQAS can help employers meet their immediate recruitment needs where an assessment is required for a specific international credential. Job applicants can authorize their employers to submit a request to IQAS to expedite an assessment. Employers may submit their request through the contact IQAS page.
For educational institutions
IQAS can help an educational institution determine if an internationally trained applicant meets its entrance or admission requirements.
Our services include:
- evaluating an internationally educated person’s education credentials and issuing an assessment certificate
- issuing a duplicate assessment certificate directly to educational institutions upon an applicant’s request
- providing International Education Guides to share information about comparing international education credentials to Canadian standards
- holding training workshops
For regulatory organizations
IQAS can help professional regulatory organizations understand international credentials and how they compare to educational standards in Canada.
Our services include:
- providing clear, accurate and reliable assessment certificates for potential candidates who have international education credentials. Some professional regulatory organizations may require specialized assessments, which are processed within 15 business days once all required documents are provided to IQAS.
- issuing a duplicate assessment certificate directly to professional regulatory organizations upon an applicant’s request
- providing International Education Guides to share information about comparing international education credentials to Canadian standards
- holding training workshops
Workshops
IQAS holds workshops for stakeholders, such as educational institutions and professional regulatory organizations, on education systems and best practices when assessing international education credentials. The workshops provide information on international credential assessment methodology and various education systems in the world.
