Field books

The Government of Alberta scanned microfilms and paper copies of field books of historical survey data about our township system.

Overview

The Government of Canada provided field books to the Government of Alberta which contained historical survey data about our township system. From these books, the Government of Alberta created microfilms that now, along with the originals, reside at the Provincial Archives of Alberta.

Spatial Information System

The Director of Surveys office scanned the  images from microfilm rolls and the  images are available on the Spatial Information System (SPIN).

Distribution

To find out about field book distribution, see Land Survey Products.
