Introduction

The non-profit and voluntary sector touches almost all aspects of community life in Alberta. The sector consists of more than 27,000 charities and non-profit organizations.

Community-based non-profits employ almost 84,000 Albertans and contribute almost $5.7 billion in gross domestic product to the Alberta economy.
