Dawn and Amber Shaw have been volunteering regularly for Meals on Wheels in Grande Prairie for the last 10 years. They have continued to deliver twice a week during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dawn and Amber are part of a core group of long-term volunteers who have increased their commitment to the organization and have taken on extra duties. Volunteers like Dawn and Amber are vitally important during this time, as a large number of Meals on Wheels clients have medical conditions that make them vulnerable and are self-isolating.
Thanks to volunteers like Dawn and Amber, Meals on Wheels clients continue to receive a hot, nutritious meal delivered to their homes.
