Step 1. Review your bylaws and governing documents

Step 2. Obtain approval from the board of directors
Approval typically requires a vote by the board. The board must agree to the closure of the organization and approve the steps that will be taken to dissolve it.
Step 3. Notify members and the public
Notify the members, your stakeholders and the public of the decision to dissolve the organization. This can be done through various means, including a letter, email, or public announcement.
Step 4. Wind up operations
Winding up your operations involves cancelling any contracts and paying off debts and liabilities. You may also need to sell or transfer assets.
Step 5. File dissolution papers the Alberta government
File the required dissolution papers with the Registrar of Alberta. These papers must be filed within 6 months of the organization's dissolution. You will also need to file a final return with the Canada Revenue Agency.
