Changes to CME Program
In accordance with the recent agreement between the Government of Alberta and the Alberta Medical Association (AMA), the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program is changing.
The AMA is taking over the administration of the CME Program. Go to the AMA website for more information about the 2022–23 CME Program.
2021–22 CME applications closed
The application period for the 2021–22 CME reimbursement program is closed. New applications to the program are no longer being accepted.
If you applied before January 27, 2023 but have not yet received reimbursement, your application will still be processed.
Applications are being processes as quickly as possible. The program has received many applications, and our team is working diligently to process, calculate and verify reimbursements. All reimbursement payments will paid via e-transfer directly into a physician’s account in the coming weeks.
Alberta Health will follow up with applicants if there are questions regarding applications to ensure that everyone who applied, and is eligible, receives reimbursement.
An eligible physician must notify us as soon as possible if there are any changes in their circumstances that may impact their eligibility.
Note: Applicants to the program are required to keep copies of receipts and other relevant proof for CME activities being claimed as these documents may be required in the future for auditing purposes.
