Introduction
Some of the more than 65 fish species found in Alberta are classified as game fish that anglers may either harvest for subsistence or catch and release for sport. Descriptions of a few of the more popular game fish species are found in this collection.
Alberta's fishing regulations require that anglers know the size and possession limits set for various fish species at select waterbodies in the province. Fish intended for harvest must meet all provincial fishing regulation requirements.
