Agreement for Movement of Raw Forest Products

Mill owners must agree to certain conditions to haul forest products bigger than regulated dimensions and weights.

Explore pages in:

Use of agreement

The Agreement for Movement of Raw Forest Products is required where the mill agrees to comply with a set of conditions for the movement of raw forest products greater than regulated dimensions and weights on public highways in the province.

The mill and the province must sign this agreement before carriers can haul increased dimensions and weights to a mill.

Maps and addendums

Each vehicle hauling increased dimensions and weights must have a Part 1 Permit, which is good for all mills in the Province. See Log haul permits and maps.

In addition, each vehicle hauling for or on behalf of a mill will need one of the following:

Maps

Prior to allowing vehicles to haul at weights or dimensions exceeding regulated weights, the mill will apply for permission to use designated routes at increased weights and dimensions:

Upon approval and entering into an agreement the mill will receive a colour coded map.

Alternatively upon request the mill may be given permission and necessary information to produce their own maps.

Addendums

An addendum is required when a cut block is accessed using public roadways which are not indicated as approved routes on the colour map.

To request an addendum route, the mill must submit the following items:

Weight monitoring

Scales

Mills using a permanent scale are required to monitor and control all loaded vehicles entering their yard.

See Section K of the Agreement if hauling weights greater than regulated weights found in Commercial Vehicle Dimension and Weight Regulation AR 315/2002.

Reports

You must report, monthly, all over-weights recorded for vehicles hauling for or on behalf of your company when winter weights are in effect.

See Item 4.2 and Appendix 7 of the Dimension and Weight Agreement for more details on reporting for inspection at government weigh scales.

Winter weight notice

Mills will be notified in writing when winter weights come into effect in their area.

Following this notice, the mill can direct the vehicles hauling into its mill to commence hauling at winter weights.

A Dimension/Winter Weight Log Haul Permit and validated route map is required for each vehicle and configuration hauling winter weights. See Log haul permits and maps.

Mills will be notified in writing when winter weights are removed in their area.

Following this notice, the mill will direct the vehicles hauling into its mill to cease hauling at winter weights.

Once winter weights are removed, the dimensions shown on the Dimension/Winter Weight Log Haul Permit are still valid, provided the weights do not exceed the regulated weight as determined by Commercial Dimension and Weight Regulation AR 315/2002. See Log haul permits and maps.
