Description: Severe thunderstorm warning in effect
At 6:55 p.m. MDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. This thunderstorm is located near Kew, 10 km northwest of Diamond Valley, and is heading very slowly to the east. Large accumulations of hail are possible with this thunderstorm.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Large hail can damage property and cause injury. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
Area: Foothills Co. near Priddis and Brown-Lowery Prov. Park
