Processing summary totals
2024 summary
- AAIP issued 9,942 nominations in 2024, meeting its allocation for the year.
- We also issued some additional nominations under a small Express Entry administrative overage provided by the federal government.
- Over 85% of the total 2024 nominations went to temporary foreign workers in Alberta.
- This percentage is in line with the Government of Canada’s requirement included in the ‘Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.’
- AAIP issued 777 work permit support letters for existing foreign workers already contributing to Alberta’s economy and labour market needs under the Temporary Public Policy. These letters support nomination eligibility and federal authorization to continue to work in the province. Applicants who received one of these work permit support letters will have their application for nomination assessed in 2025 or 2026.
