Outage resolved – eFacility services
Access to the eFacility system has been restored. Effective immediately, all ongoing and future inspections must be entered into eFacility and the guidelines in the Facility Operating Manual must be followed.
Important – Inspection facilities should no longer email completed inspections into the department.
Inspection facilities do not need to enter their backlog of inspections – department staff will be entering these inspections in the coming weeks.
Overview
All licensed inspection facilities must complete inspections using the eFacility system. Users will need an account to complete inspection certificates, records of inspection or order commercial vehicle decals.
User accounts
Inspection facilities are required to identify who on their team needs an eFacility User Account. Users are not required to be a licensed inspection technician.
Registered facility contact persons are the only people authorized to request adding new user access, as well as adding and removing existing users by completing the eFacility User Access form and return it to us by email.
If you are unsure who the facility contact person is, contact a Vehicle Inspection Program Analyst.
User support
Use the eFacility User Guide for step-by-step instructions on entering inspections, making changes to an inspection, and replacing decals.

For any other changes, such as VIN corrections on a completed inspection or the cancellation of a decal, email us.
Decals
Purchase Commercial Vehicle Inspection (CVI) decals online through MyAlberta eServices.
CVI decals are assigned to a specific facility, and are not to be transferred, sold or given to any other licensed inspection facility. For further information, refer to the Facility Operating Manual.
Only facilities licensed and authorized to conduct Commercial Vehicle Inspections require CVI decals.
Fees and shipping
A book of 20 decals costs $30. All decal orders must be made through MyAlberta eServices and will be shipped to the facility. Orders will not be held for pickup.
Shipping is included in the purchase price of the decals. Orders are delivered within 2 business days within Alberta through Canada Xpresspost. Inspection facilities that wish to have their order rushed can pay an additional cost to have their decal order couriered to them. We ship with Purolator, UPS, FedEx or Loomis/DHL.
Record of inspection
Technicians must complete a Record of Inspection (ROI) for each vehicle inspection completed in the Vehicle Inspection Program.
Sign the original ROI and provide it to the person who presented the vehicle for inspection regardless if the vehicle has passed the inspection or not. The facility must also retain a copy of the signed ROI for their records.
Commercial ROI's
- School Bus, Commercial Bus, Motor Coach
- Truck and Truck-Tractor
- Trailer, Semi-Trailer, C-Dolly, and Converter Dolly
