Overview
Albertans living in rural and remote communities face unique challenges that require tailored supports and approaches to deliver safe, high-quality and sustainable health care services. To help guide actions, address challenges and improve outcomes in rural and remote health care, Alberta’s government has launched a Rural Health Action Plan.

Vision
A resilient and sustainable health care system that can provide every rural and remote Albertan, including First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples, with access to a health system that can deliver the care they need when and where they need it.
Rural Health Action Plan
The Rural Health Action Plan, 2024-2027 outlines 5 focus areas, each with priority actions to address rural and remote health disparities and foster an equitable health care system so Albertans can live happier, healthier lives.
