“Across our province, Christians are entering the season of Advent, which looks forward to the birth of Jesus Christ and his return. On each of the four Sundays before Christmas, Christians look at the themes of hope, peace, joy and love, and include special candle lightings during their worship services.
“Christians have been observing Advent since the fourth century. As a time of preparation and reflection, the four weeks unite Christians as they celebrate the true reason for the Christmas season.
