Parliamentary Secretary for Economic Corridor Development Shane Getson will leverage his time in Iceland from Oct. 15 to 20 by connecting with international officials and private sector leaders and sharing more about Alberta’s decades-long leadership in environmental policy, clean technology and innovation. The assembly will also provide a forum for gaining insight into opportunities for Alberta to support and partner with Arctic jurisdictions in their energy and emissions management goals.

“Alberta has a lot to offer when it comes to shaping a sustainable and resilient future for the Arctic and the rest of the world. I am honoured to have this opportunity to engage with international delegates on key issues facing the region. I will share how Alberta is perfectly positioned to contribute to the global transition away from emissions through our groundbreaking leadership in responsible energy development, renewable energy technologies and emissions reductions standards.”
