Office of Statistics and Information (OSI)

This office plans, consolidates, develops and promotes Alberta's demographic, economic, social and other statistics.

Introduction

The Office of Statistics and Information (OSI) is the official Alberta statistical agency, responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of data and the development and publication of statistics for the province of Alberta. 

As the provincial focal point for Statistics Canada, the OSI represents Alberta’s interests and collaborates with its federal, provincial and territorial partners on national statistical issues.

  • March 24, 2025 | Charitable Donations in Alberta, 2012 – 2022
    According to the personal income tax data, total charitable donations have been increasing over the past 10 years, while total number of donors has been declining.
  • March 19, 2025 | Quarterly Population Report – Fourth Quarter 2024
    As of January 1, 2025, Alberta’s population was estimated to be 4,960,097, an addition of 28,496 people between October 1 and December 31, 2024, leading the country with the highest population growth.
