Biography
Mickey Amery was sworn in as Minister of Justice on June 9, 2023. He previously served as the Minister of Children’s Services.
Prior to his service as an elected official, Mr. Amery was a practicing lawyer and business owner in Calgary. He has worked on cases of national significance in the areas of aboriginal law and consumer protection. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, a bachelor’s degree in economics and a Juris Doctorate degree in law.
Active in his community, he served as a director for the Learning Disability Association of Alberta and as member on various local community boards and organizations.
He and his wife have 2 sons and a daughter.
Mickey Amery was first elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Cross on April 16, 2019 and was re-elected on May 29, 2023.
