Service description: Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs are community- and school-based programs that facilitate a natural supports relationship between a young person and a caring adult or Teen mentor. Our programs are 1:1, following best practices for effective mentoring.

Service description: Functional Family Therapy © (FFT) is an intensive, evidence-based therapy model that works with the child/youth and their entire family aimed at improving family cohesion, increasing the family’s protective factors and reducing risk factors. We have two teams, one for children/youth ages 0-11 and one for ages 11-18, which is run in collaboration with Kindred.

Service description: Successful Young Parents is a multi-component program that serves young parents through a variety of intervention strategies that combine group support and activities with individualized support, including: one-on-one parent coaching and capacity-building; Skilled Family Workers, experienced with young at-risk parents with complex issues, and deliver home-based, site-based, and virtual support services to parents aged 12-22 where risk factors or specific need for one-on-one support are present. Multiple program options are available on an on-going basis, with home visitation typically provided weekly and more frequent visits occurring where more intensive support is needed, with frequency tapering off as the family progresses towards their goals and risk factors are reduced. SYP Workers support young parents with their own development as well as their child’s and adjust their strategies to meet the young parents where they are at.

Service description: The Family Life Education spoke service offers a choice of 12 different multi-session parenting courses and 18 single-session parent capacity-building workshops.

Service description: Skilled and experienced Home Visitors provide home-based services to expectant parents and children newborn to age six, where risk factors or specific need for one-on-one support are present. Services are usually provided in the family home (and is also available remotely), typically on a once-weekly basis, with more frequent visits occurring where more intensive support is needed, and frequency tapering off as level of intensity reduces and as the family meets their goals and transitions towards service closure. Home Visitation delivers teaching, coaching and guidance to provide parents with the information, learning and support they need to use positive parenting, promote their child’s development, provide a safe and nurturing home environment, and strengthen their family.

Service description: Resilient Families is a program that provides in-home support to help preserve and strengthen families. Our Facilitators work together with families to help them reach their goals and address the challenges they are facing. We help to teach parenting skills and build on family resiliency so that parents are able to parent their children more effectively and independently

Service description: Rapid Access Counselling (RAC) provides families with a supportive, change-focused conversation at the right time. RAC can help with a challenge you're facing right now through a 75-minute focused counselling appointment. This service is tailored to support caregivers and children with a focus on supporting caregiver capacity and promoting resilience within the family. We see individuals, families, or couples for solution-focused support on a wide range of counselling needs

Service description: This program will support newcomer parents and caregivers to help their children reach developmental milestones through parent-education (parents only), child-development programming, and parent-child interactive programming.
