  • Service description: The Strengthening Homefires Cultural and Social Work Support Program is a prevention and early intervention program that uses Indigenous ways of knowing and holistic views to strengthen and build resiliency of a family unit to create a legacy of healing through education and support. The supports and services provided will strengthen Indigenous parents, youth and families’ understanding of traditions, customs and practices; grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, increasing positive outcomes related to child safety and well-being. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to build resilience through understanding the effects of indigenous history and intergenerational trauma regarding parenting and interactions with family and community and increase their capacity to access community resources in times of need.

  • Service description: KARA provides a non-judgmental, culturally safe space for children, caregivers, and families to safely access resources, explore and learn both independently and together. Children and parents take part in developmentally appropriate programs that promote the well-being and healthy development of the whole child.
