  • Service description: The Strengthening Homefires Cultural and Social Work Support Program is a prevention and early intervention program that uses Indigenous ways of knowing and holistic views to strengthen and build resiliency of a family unit to create a legacy of healing through education and support. The supports and services provided will strengthen Indigenous parents, youth and families’ understanding of traditions, customs and practices; grounded in Indigenous ways of knowing, increasing positive outcomes related to child safety and well-being. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to build resilience through understanding the effects of indigenous history and intergenerational trauma regarding parenting and interactions with family and community and increase their capacity to access community resources in times of need.

  • Service description: Leduc County Home Visitation provides identified parents with targeted, long term, trauma informed, relationship based, in-home support that focuses on child development from pre-natal up to age 6. Parents and caregivers are supported to develop their parenting skills, build resiliencies and increase protective factors, thereby improving developmental outcomes for families.

  • Service description: Our Family Support program offers one-on-one support to families with children outside the scope of Home Visitation. Utilizing best practice approaches derived from the same principles of practice as Home Visitation, the program focuses on child development for children ages 7-18 and provides in-home, one-to-one support to support parents and caregivers to develop their parenting skills, build resiliencies and increase protective factors thereby improving developmental outcomes for families.
