Description: In 2024 the BMF did a "Paint by Numbers" beaver mural, inviting the community to participate. In two days we had a completed mural with lots of positive comments from artists and community members. In 2025 we're doing a community "Paint by Numbers" moose with emphasize on how important this keystone animal was to the indigenous Beaver (Dene-zaa), Cree and Metis peoples. The BMF supplies all materials, so the "artist" just has to pick a number and paint within the lines!

Description: Island vs. Island is a vibrant celebration of culture, heritage, and community, designed for children, youth, and families. The event brings together diverse groups to connect, compete, and celebrate their shared heritage. Day 1 features a meet and greet, Day 2 hosts a Sports Symposium with Olympic athletes, and Day 3 begins with an Olympic-style opening ceremony. Description: Francophone Open Air Movie Night In partnership with Cinemagine, FFC 2025 will feature the Francophone Night Movie event, an open-air film screening that celebrates the rich culture of the Francophone world. This event will feature a French-language film, accompanied by English subtitles.

Description: Franco Festival Calgary 2025 Franco Festival Calgary (FFC), Calgary’s premier multicultural Francophone festival, was founded in August 2011 by the Portail de l'Immigrant Association (PIA), a non-profit organization based in Calgary, Alberta. Description: On September 30th, we will host "From Acknowledgment to Action: A Reconciliation Journey," bringing together 500 Indigenous and non-Indigenous participants to raise awareness about Indian Residential Schools and the 60s Child Welfare Scoop. The day will feature a documentary screening of "Honour To Senator Murray Sinclair," a panel discussion on trauma, a moment of silence for survivors, an exhibit by Elder Terry Lusty, and the Truth and Reconciliation Recognition Award to honor reconciliation.

Description: The Pow Wow is intended for participants new on their journey of Reconciliation, this Indigenous-led community event provides ample opportunities to celebrate the rich cultural diversity, entrepreneurship, art, and contributions of many. This free public family friendly event will include: 2 day Pow Wow, 1 day Princess Pageant and 1 day art expo highlighting local Indigenous artists.

Description: The Fall Harvest Festival is an annual event each September for the past eighteen years. Many activities are planned for family and guests of all ages. There is no charge to attend the event and it has grown to over 1000 participant's with a hundred volunteers. This is the major fund raiser for our Museum.

Description: We would like to invite our community to celebrate all the different cultures in Southern Alberta! We would like this celebration to focus on the different foods and traditions of these cultures by hosting a Food Fest outside of the library in September. This event will comprise of food trucks, live music, traditional dancing/ entertainment, and family friendly activities.

Description: The Lesser Slave Lake Metis District would like to host a gathering that would promote the Metis Culture in the spirit of Truth and Reconciliation. The event will be open to all to attend. It will offer traditional foods (soup, bannock, rice pudding) as well as traditional music and dance. We will be creating a Metis Sash for our District, and participants will have the opportunity to have their family woven into the threads of our sash.

Description: The event will be a celebration open to everyone in the area. There will be no cost to attend. The Friday will kick off the event with an Artisan Craft show, where local artists can showcase their talent, teaching people and have the opportunity to sell their works. The second day will be a full day, involving a variety of free activities; a pie eating contest; and a competition called squash the competition, where people submit their garden grown squash and gourds for prizes.

Description: 2 day festival celebrating Alberta's cultural diversity on Mainstreet in Two Hills. In celebrating our community, we are planning to showcase ethic dance, food, art and entertainment. There will be interactive educational displays and workshops available free to the public.
