A Public Lands Camping Pass is required to random camp on public land along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.

Camping
- Random camping is permitted, but a Public Lands Camping Pass is required to random camp on public land along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.
- Willow Creek area:
- Camping is only available in the designated nodes.
- Camping is no service and first come, first serve.
- Campfires only permitted in designated nodes.
- Campsites and fires must be 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) from a Provincial Recreation Area
- Review the regulations and best practices for camping on public land.

Motorized
Off-highway vehicles (OHV) permitted only on designated trails:
- Specific trails are designated for specific vehicle type by width.
- Some seasonal closures apply.
- Highway licensed vehicles are permitted on designated trails.

- Snowmobiles permitted only on designated trails. For further information, see: Know Before You Go: Snowmobiles.
- Willow Creek area: only off-highway vehicles (OHV) with a weight not exceeding 363 kilograms (800 pounds) are permitted.

Non-motorized
- Hiking permitted.
- Equestrian permitted. Horse grazing or tethering must be 100 metres from a lakeshore.
- Cross-country skiing permitted.

Livingstone-Porcupine Hills Recreation Advisory Group
Formed in January 2019, the Alberta government formed a recreation advisory group for the Livingstone-Porcupine Hills PLUZs. This advisory group brings together First Nations and a broad spectrum of sectoral interests and stakeholders including recreation-minded, conservation oriented, and locally affected persons or organizations with Government of Alberta representatives to provide advice to the Department in the implementation of the Recreation Management Plan (RMP) and management of the PLUZ.
This recreation advisory group provides a forum to collaborate, exchange information and ideas, provide advice and recommend solutions from the perspective of the members’ communities.
Member organizations include:
- local municipalities
- landowners and community organizations
- recreation organizations - motorized recreation, cross-country ski, equestrian, hiking, mountain biking, trapping, guides and outfitters, hunting and fishing, environmental and stewardship focused organizations
- industry - grazing, forestry, energy and mining
- Treaty 6 and Treaty 7 First Nations
