Overview
Labour mobility provides a larger pool of qualified candidates. Employers should ensure that the workers in regulated occupations they hire are certified in Alberta by a regulatory authority to comply with standards specified in legislation (acts and regulations).
If you are an Alberta employer with labour mobility concerns, contact Alberta Labour Mobility.
Alberta Labour Mobility Coordinator
The coordinator can help employers by:
- addressing labour mobility questions and directing to resources
- explaining the labour mobility articles in domestic trade agreements
- facilitating government-to-government conversations to prevent or resolve labour mobility issues

Labour mobility survey reports
These annual reports provide a snapshot of the domestic labour mobility rates of out-of-province certified workers to Alberta.
The province’s labour force receives significant numbers of certified workers from other provinces and territories who apply for certification to work in Alberta.
The survey data used in these reports supports and informs labour force planning across a number of government ministries, within industry and other interested partners.
Labour mobility dashboards
The labour mobility dashboard provides a visual representation of key findings from the annual labour mobility survey.
