Overview

The United Nations recognizes International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) each year on December 3. This day increases awareness of diverse abilities and promotes inclusion for Albertans with disabilities. Funding is available to help community groups hold IDPD events.

IDPD 2023 events

Afternoon Tea and Talks

Date: November 30, 3 to 5 pm and 6:30 to 7:30 pm

Details: The Red Deer Public Library will be hosting two sessions for International Day of Persons with Disabilities, “Afternoon Tea and Talks” and “Let’s Talk About Service Dogs!”

Grants

Groups can apply for funding to hold in-person, virtual or hybrid International Day of Persons with Disabilities events in their communities.
Groups can apply for funding to hold a collaborative, Alberta-wide virtual International Day of Persons with Disabilities event.
