As a result of a number of non-compliances that have gone unremedied by the provider, Jobs, Economy and Trade has put Play ‘N’ Fun Day Care on a probationary licence with a term to expire on July 9. Child Care Licensing is closely monitoring the program.
The licence holder is required to notify all parents of their probationary status and provide evidence of notification to the Ministry of Jobs, Economy and Trade. Families looking for alternative child-care options can contact Child Care Connect toll free at 1-844-644-5165 for information on other licenced programs or use the Child Care Look-up tool.

Probationary licences
The vast majority of child-care providers and educators in Alberta are committed to the safety and well-being of the children in their care.
However, if a licenced child-care program is unable to meet the standards set out by Alberta’s government, it can be subject to enforcement action, including suspension of its licence and probation. Through continued monitoring, further enforcement up to and including cancellation of a licence can occur if the level of risk continues or escalates.
If the licenced child-care program is unable to return to compliance during the probationary period, the suspended licence expires. Cancellation is the last resort with compliance being the goal.
