Minister Ellis and Minister Amery will meet with officials from government, law enforcement and non-government organizations to learn and exchange information on best practices in public safety, justice and emergency management. Insights and information gathered over the course of these engagements may help inform the development of future policies, programs and services in Alberta.

“By sharing experiences and strategies with Texas, we can enhance public safety and foster trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve. Alberta’s government will always keep an open mind to the ways we can strengthen public safety here at home, and I look forward to learning more about the state’s successful strategies in areas pertaining to public safety and sharing our best practices.”

Mike Ellis, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Services

“Alberta and Texas are united by a shared history, common values and enduring ties. Learning about each others’ successes and innovations related to the justice system, including digitization and innovative technology, will help us bring back new ideas and approaches we can consider to make our justice system more efficient and effective for Albertans.”

Mickey Amery, Minister of Justice and Attorney General
