While there, the Premier will also attend the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), one of the world’s largest and most important energy events, where she will meet with Alberta exhibitors who are showcasing cutting edge energy technologies and services to global buyers and visit with key international partners.

“Not only is the UAE our largest trading partner in the Middle East, it is a global leader in implementing sustainability initiatives to enhance its oil and gas developments, while also aggressively growing entirely new economic drivers, such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and cloud infrastructure. Deepening our relationship with the UAE is critical to the long-term economic prosperity of Alberta.”

Danielle Smith, Premier of Alberta

Throughout the program, Premier Smith will highlight Alberta’s efforts to be the world’s most sustainable producer of energy, assisted by Alberta’s Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan, which sets a clear course for a carbon-neutral economy by 2050. The province is a world leader in reducing methane emissions and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).

Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
