Along with Rob Davidson from the Alberta Electric System Operator and Vlad Oujegov from Invest Alberta, Alberta’s government will promote our potential as a data centre investment destination. The objective of the mission is to attract U.S. technology and data centre-related infrastructure companies to invest in the development of advanced, sustainable data centers within the province.

The joint delegation will also discuss regulatory frameworks and investment conditions required for data centre investment and highlight Alberta’s competitive strengths.

“From infrastructure to market access, Alberta is the premier destination for artificial intelligence hyperscale data centers. Our competitive advantages around electricity, water, telecommunications and regulatory framework are unmatched in Canada and North America. I look forward to promoting Alberta as the destination of choice for data centre investment.”

Nate Glubish, Minister of Technology and Innovation

In San Francisco, the delegation will meet with leading technology companies and investors related to data centres. The delegation will also attend the Cleantech Group Data Center Event’s panel discussion, sponsored by Invest Alberta, to discuss the future of data center development as it relates to energy consumption. The event expects about 100 attendees including venture capitalists, tech leaders and thought leaders from the climate tech sector.

Minister Glubish will travel with two staff members. Trip expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
