“It is my sincere pleasure to celebrate the 67th Imamat Day with Ismaili Muslim Albertans.

“Alberta’s Ismaili Muslim community is numbered at more than 20,000 people, and growing each year. Imamat Day is an occasion for the Ismaili Muslim community to celebrate and honour the leadership and guidance of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, their 49th hereditary Imam.

“His Highness has always been a gracious benefactor of Alberta, donating to the University of Alberta and most recently, funding a special garden at the University of Alberta Botanic Garden.

“I wish to recognize the importance of the Aga Khan’s gifts to humanity and wish all Ismaili Muslims, in Alberta and around the world, a day filled with celebration and community.

“Thank you to this community for your role in contributing to Alberta’s vibrant cultural mosaic.

“Happy Imamat Day!”
