Incident details

Carmacks Industrial Ltd. has been charged with four counts under the Public Lands Act, relating to the company’s occupancy of public lands near Fort McMurray.

The charges include:

  • failing to comply with an order to vacate contrary to section 47.1 of the Public Lands Act (three counts)
  • occupying public lands without authorization contrary to section 20 of the Public Lands Act (one count)

Carmacks Enterprises Ltd. has been charged with one count under the same act.

The next court appearance is set for Mar. 1, 2017 in Fort McMurray Provincial Court.
