Overview

From October 31 to November 9, 2024, the Government of Alberta is leading a trade mission to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to enhance trade relationships in the region by participating in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) and through events in Dubai.

The Alberta opportunity

With some of the world’s largest oil and gas reserves and the lowest taxes in Canada, the province of Alberta is an innovative leader in responsible energy development, emissions reduction and clean technology. Located in Western Canada, Alberta is home to some of the world’s most livable cities with a young, educated, innovative, entrepreneurial and diverse population, a burgeoning tech sector and one of the most business-friendly climates in North America.

Alberta’s mission to UAE

In the UAE, the Government of Alberta will discuss shared priorities in oil and gas production, emissions reduction and clean technology, agriculture, technology, life sciences, transportation and logistics.

ADIPEC is the world’s largest energy industry gathering with more than 2,200 organizations from across the global energy ecosystem. Alberta will have a booth at the event and support companies in business-to-business meetings and networking events. The government will also meet with officials and industry representatives and connect with companies interested in investing in the province.

Alberta has a number of strengths in a variety of sectors that can support the UAE in continuing to expand their prosperity and build their economy, including energy, agriculture and clean technology.
