Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Like many volunteers, Edmonton’s Karsh Chauhan is sharing his knowledge and passion for learning and sports and using both to inspire young people in his community.

As a natural athlete from a young age, Karsh as he is known to friends and the many students he’s mentored, has sought leadership opportunities as a volunteer basketball coach, referee and Terry Fox run organizer. His enthusiasm and talent for working with children made him an exceptional role model for his juniors, many of whom went on to develop a strong work ethic and competitive-level performance.

During high-school and university, Karsh volunteered to tutor and mentor colleagues facing financial and academic hardships. Under his guidance, countless students were able to improve and were inspired to attain secondary education. Karsh is beyond his years in his ability to identify gaps in his community and to respond to alleviate them.

For his ability and enthusiasm in inspiring and supporting others in achieving their dreams, Karsh Chauhan is a worthy recipient of Northern Lights Volunteer Recognition.
