For a youngster in the Fort McMurray area, all it takes to share in the magic found between the covers of a beloved story book is imagination and the Imagination Library.

Inspired by the work of the internationally regarded Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a group of dedicated Fort McMurray grown-ups decided to establish a Fort McMurray chapter of the successful child-focused non-profit. Through the program, children from newborn to 5 years of age are able to register to receive an age-appropriate book, delivered in the child’s name each month, free of charge. From Fort Chipewyan to Conklin and beyond, Imagination Library Wood Buffalo has sent thousands of books directly to the homes of young readers and those who enjoy having Mom and Dad read to them throughout the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo.

Contributing hundreds of hours of volunteer time to administer, manage and fundraise, the team at Imagination Library Wood Buffalo is creating a little magic of their own with the faces of hundreds of Wood Buffalo youth suddenly beaming with happy smiles. Now, is that magical or what?
