There’s always something happening in Water Valley, and chances are Elly VandenEnden is right there lending a hand to help make it happen!
For 13 years, Elly has been treasurer of the dedicated band of community boosters known as the Water Valley Community Association (WVCA), but keeping the non-profit’s accounts is only one of the many duties that she has enthusiastically embraced. Whether it is stepping up to help organize the myriad of events during the annual Water Valley Days festival (the 2024 edition is being held August 24) or volunteering to take a shift at the organization’s casino fundraiser, Elly is clearly up for the challenge. As treasurer she helped oversee one of the WVCA’s largest projects, construction of the $1.4 million community hall. It is a facility Elly no doubt knows well as she volunteers at events including the annual Celtic Festival and Turkey Supper.
Elly is quick to point out that it takes a village to make the small but mighty community’s many events successful and she directs the kudos to all who volunteer. For her dedication and commitment to making life better for all in Water Valley and the surrounding area, and for serving as role model to her fellow volunteers, Elly VandenEnden is a deserving Northern Lights Recognition recipient!
