Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Woodlands County has issued an Evacuation Order for Flats Rd area along the Athabasca River.

Rising waters are causing overland flooding and washing out roads. River flows are expected to peak late this evening at the earliest and remain high until at least Friday.

Area: This order is in effect for everyone in Woodlands County near Flats Rd. from town of Whitecourt boundary/RR115 east along Flats Road. Athabasca River south to the rail line.

• Woodlands County

Action to take:

• Everyone in the affected area must evacuate immediately
• Gather pets, important documents, and medication
• A Reception Center is open at Woodlands County Office, 1 Woodlands Lane, Whitecourt
• Call 1-866-870-6315 to register and for info
• Call 9-1-1 for emergency assistance.
