Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. Woodlands County has issued a Flood Alert for Flats Rd area along the Athabasca River.

Rising waters on the Athabasca River are causing overland flooding near Whitecourt. Water levels are expected to rise and peak in the evening, June 20 potentially leading to further flooding. No evacuation is required currently.

Area: This alert is in effect for everyone in Woodlands County near Flats Rd. Area includes Town of Whitecourt boundary/RR115 east along Flats Road. Athabasca River south to the rail line.

• Woodlands County

Action to take:

• Everyone in the affected area must prepare to evacuate with 1-hour notice
• Gather pets, important documents, medication
• This alert will be updated if an evacuation is required
• Stay tuned to www.alberta.ca/emergencyalert, local media for updates
• Avoid the area
• Do not bypass or move barricades
• Do not travel through water covered roads, use alternate routes
