Description: An evacuation alert remains in effect for west side of Brazeau County

Everyone in Brazeau County west of Range Road 95 to the entire Brazeau County border from north to south must be prepared to evacuate. This is precautionary due to increased fire behaviour west of Brazeau County accompanied by a forecasted wind shift from the west. Elk River Road is closed to all but emergency and industry traffic.

Area: An evacuation alert is still in effect for anyone in the area indicated on the attached map. Those in this area must be prepared to evacuate on 30 minutes' notice. This area includes Lodgepole and Cynthia.

Affected areas (2):

  • Yellowhead County
  • Brazeau County

Action to take:

  • Please prepare properties by removing flammable materials, closing windows, and covering vents where possible
  • Expect increased activities and presence of fire crews in the area
