Description: This is an Alberta Emergency Alert. The County of Grande Prairie has issued a Wildfire alert.
The Peavine Creek wildfire has crossed the BC-AB border and is burning 5.5 km west of Preston Lake. Winds are pushing the fire east. The situation is being carefully monitored and if conditions do not improve, an evacuation will be required.
Area: This alert is in effect for everyone located north of TWP RD 732, west of RGE RD 131, and south of TWP RD 742.

Action to take:
- If you are in the affected area, you must prepare for a possible evacuation within 1 hour notice
- Fuel your vehicles and gather pets, important documents, medications and enough food and water to be away from your home for at least 7 days
- No evacuation is required at this time
- This alert will be updated with further instructions as the situation progresses
