Description: Alberta Emergency Alert: Overland Flow Flood Alert - in Woodlands County along Flats Road. Updated
Update 30 Apr 2018 @ 1800: Currently there has been no significant change in the Flats Road area in Woodlands County. The water has receded slightly but the ice jam affecting the Athabasca River in this area is still holding firm.
Flats Road continues to be barricaded and people are asked to avoid the area until further notice. Localized flooding continues and Flats Road remains closed. Staff are still monitoring the area and will continue to do so throughout the night. There is a large amount of water travelling across land leading to localized flooding along flats Road in Woodlands County resulting in road closure & hazards. 10+ Residences affecting 34 individuals were evacuated. Flats Road is impassible, people are to avoid the area. Barricades and signs are in place. A State of Local Emergency was declared at 6:10 a.m. on 28 April 2018. Please avoid the area.
