Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Train Accident Alert Updated
There was a train derailment near the town of Mayerthorpe on Greencourt Road, affecting Highway 22 north to Range Road 85. There remains no danger to residents. C N continues to mitigate the recovery process and will remain in the area until all activities are completed to clean up after the derailment.
A total of eighteen rail cars derailed, resulting in no danger to area residents. C N personnel have completed removal of the rail cars and repairs to the track have also been completed. Site clean up and reclamation of product will commence on Monday.
