Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Train Accident Alert Updated
There is a train derailment near the town of Mayerthorpe on Greencourt Road, affecting Highway 22 north to Range Road 85. There is no danger to residents, however C N has requested that the travelling public stay away from the area. Traffic control is in place with only emergency and clean up personnel, as well as local traffic being allowed through.
A total of fourteen rail cars have derailed. There is no danger to area residents. There is no danger of fire or harmful environmental release. Emergency personnel are on scene to direct traffic away from the area. Removal of affected rail cars is expected to be completed by early Saturday morning and track repairs to be completed by late afternoon.

- Heavy equipment is working in the area clearing the derailment
