Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - High Water Level Alert Updated
The ice jam on the Little Red Deer River at Highway 587 has subsided and water levels are receding. Localized flooding of roads and property may still occur as river levels fluctuate. Highway 587 has reopened between Range Road 23 and Range Road 25.
The Cottonwood Gordon Hall reception centre is now closed. The voluntary evacuation for Silver Lagoon subdivision remains in effect. Sand bags are available at the Spruceview Fire Hall for affected residents. Alberta Health Services has issued a boil water advisory for Silver Lagoon subdivision and Red Lodge Estates. Residents located within 5 km of flooded areas are advised to exercise caution with drinking water and to boil water as a cautionary measure.
