Description: Alberta Emergency Alert: Overland Flow Flood Alert

Melting snow has led to overland flooding throughout Kneehill County. The Kneehills Creek and the Three Hills Creek are both experiencing high flows and a flood watch has been issued by Alberta Environment https://rivers.alberta.ca/

Multiple roads in the County remain closed, and others are local traffic only. Be cautious of rising water levels and avoid creek banks. Do not travel through water covered roads, as there may be hidden hazards.

Action to take:

  • Contact Kneehill County at 1-866-443-5541 to report roads that are affected by water and have not been flagged
  • A limited amount of sandbags are available also
  • People self-evacuating should contact 1-866-443-5541 for assistance if required
