Individuals, groups and organizations across Alberta are being recognized with Premier’s Council on the Status of Persons with Disabilities Awards. The awards are presented for achievement and leadership in making positive changes that create inclusive, barrier-free communities where persons with disabilities can fully participate.

The 2015 award recipients are:

  • Cal Schuler, Calgary: Gary McPherson Leadership Award
  • Joey Moss, Edmonton: Marlin Styner Achievement Award
  • Accessible Housing, Ramp-It-Up Project, Calgary: Award of Excellence in Public Awareness
  • Port O’Call Safeway, Red Deer: Award of Excellence in Employment
  • Chris Schamber, Lethbridge Award of Excellence in Community
  • Lisa Doolittle, Lethbridge: Award of Excellence in Public Education
