Diana McQueen will travel to Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York from June 9-12 to meet with U.S. industry representatives and represent the province at the 2014 North American Energy Summit.
Minister McQueen’s visit to Delaware includes tours of east coast refineries looking to expand their processing and those interested in taking on Alberta crude. Key meetings with companies and community leaders in Delaware and Philadelphia will help Alberta open new markets by showcasing our record of responsible energy development.
The energy summit brings together leading energy sector decision makers, providing Minister McQueen with the opportunity to highlight Alberta’s role as a leading, responsible producer of sustainable energy and contributor to North American energy security.
“Investors from around the world come to Alberta because this province is a great place to do business, and we need to encourage further investment. North America has the ability to supply the world with energy resources. A stronger Alberta – U.S. – Mexico partnership will increase our ability for increased exports, create additional investment and allow us to work together on shared opportunities.”
Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta's resources to ensure we're able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
