This release was issued under a previous government.

This work will improve motorist safety by improving intersections, asphalt paving, line painting, culvert work and signage along this very important corridor at a cost of approximately $14 million.

The contractor has also taken the initiative to use as much recycled asphalt as possible to minimize the use of nonrenewable resources.

May 6 to July 31

Traffic will be reduced to alternating single-lane traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. controlled by flag persons. Occasional delays up to 20 minutes can be expected due to the number of wide-loads using this corridor.

No work will occur on the highway between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays to reduce traffic disruption at peak times.

Travellers may consider using Highways 827 or 831 to avoid this construction. This work is expected to be completed by July 31, weather permitting.
