“We continue to listen to Albertans as we build a strategy that will benefit our families, workers and businesses. Not only is Budget 2014 helping to build our infrastructure today, but it’s also helping to lay the foundation to seize opportunities and improvements for our future.”

Wayne Drysdale, Minister of Transportation

The next step in finalizing a long-term provincial Transportation Strategy begins with online consultations on the draft plan.

Albertans and organizations are asked to provide feedback, by the end of May, either through a survey or a more in-depth workbook.

Groups can also host their own discussions and make submissions to Alberta Transportation using the online facilitator’s handbook to help guide them through the process.

The draft strategy is the result of discussions with more than 900 individuals and organizations at 18 community meetings across Alberta in late January and February, along with 100 written submissions.

When completed, the new strategy will focus on different modes of transportation, connections and ways to move people and products to help guide government decisions on transportation investments, policies and programs.
