Minister Horne will participate in the Canada-China Policy Dialogue in Beijing from April 13 to 18.

“This meeting is an opportunity to advance our approach to health care delivery and to collaborate with other Canadian and Chinese experts to find new and better ways to meet the needs of Albertans.”

Fred Horne, Minister of Health

The Canadian delegation will meet with China’s health minister, officials and experts to build understanding of each country’s major health initiatives and systems, strengthen bilateral relations with key health institutions, and signal Canada’s continued commitment to collaboration.

As Chair of the Provincial/Territorial Conference of Health Ministers, Minister Horne has a lead role in driving health care innovation to meet current and future health challenges.

Minister Horne will make presentations on health systems and lead a roundtable on hospital management. He will represent Alberta’s perspective on health care policies, programs and related activities within Canada.

Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta's resources to ensure we're able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
