Celebrations of Francophone heritage, language and cultures will take place across the province with flag raising ceremonies, community gatherings, multicultural meetings, shows, concerts, performances, contests, educational activities and more.

“It’s important that we take the time to celebrate our diversity and educate our younger generations about their heritage. Culture is what gives us strength and enriches our communities. I encourage all Albertans to participate in the many events occurring throughout the month and experience the joie de vivre of our vibrant Franco-Albertan community first-hand.”

- Heather Klimchuk, Minister of Culture and Minister responsible for the Francophone Secretariat

This year, events will be focused around the theme joie de vivre d'hier à demain, which means “A love of life, from yesterday to tomorrow”. It showcases attributes regularly associated with Alberta’s Francophonie; including feelings of liveliness, light-heartedness, fun and good times.

“This year, we’re thrilled to see that more than 100 activities will be held in various communities across the province during Les Rendez-vous de la Francophonie! Together, let’s celebrate the vitality of Alberta’s Francophonie. Join us in experiencing our vibrant French cultures and our well-known joie de vivre!”

- Jean Johnson, President of l’Association canadienne-française de l’Alberta (ACFA)
