“Providing students with the facilities they need to succeed is critical to achieving the goals of Inspiring Education. We are building Alberta by fulfilling our pledge to help these communities recover from the devastating floods, and ensuring that these students can reach their full potential.”
School boards will need to demonstrate their need for flood mitigation measures not covered by insurance to be eligible for up to $2.5 million per school. Mitigation measures may include landscaping and site remediation, relocation of susceptible equipment like electrical, as well as installation of flood-proof doors and windows.

Under the Building Alberta Plan, our government is investing in families and communities, living within our means, and opening new markets for Alberta's resources to ensure we're able to fund the services Albertans told us matter most to them. We will continue to deliver the responsible change Albertans voted for.
